Not for sure, but I don't think the Rodeo fire went as far south as the Narrows that were featured in AZ Highways. I think the sections they featured were close to Salt River canyon and I'm pretty sure the fire didn't burn that far south.

Am I right on this guess? Anyone?

Luckily it was pretty far away from the action.

However you won't be going there anytime soon. Even if it's open the monsoon season is already kicking in. It takes days for the water to settle down to the pretty bluegreen color. Plus it's too dangerous flood wise.

Collateral damage

One of the "fire fallouts" will be the Cibecue Creek watershed's discharge into the Salt River near the "take out" for the popular river raft stretch.
After each big monsoon event and next spring when there will be some snowmelt (hopefully), there will be a substantial discharge of black goop into the Salt River. This sedimentation is most likely to have a dramatic impact on the Salt's water quality, fishery health and general recreation.
The Dude Fire produced similar results into the East Verde for quite awhile after Arizona's previous record-breaking fire. SOme people we know have already been debating how the sedimentation will affect Roosevelt Reservoir via various tributaries affected bu the fire. Only time will tell.
