It would be cool if Arizona Highways did a story on HAZ, or at least referred to it as a resource.

Dittos to the above Joe..

A few years ago I was installing a hardware upgrade to Arizona Highways computer system. Their computer room was relatively small, old and very dangerous as the upper surfaces on the floor tiles of the raised floor had lost their adhesiveness. You dared not move across the floor of the room unless you stepped very carefully each time. Any side wise pressure on these floor tiles and you would find yourself wham bang on the floor!

I offered to obtain for them some good condition replacement floor tiles from one of the City of Phoenix computer rooms for free (they had just upgraded their flooring) if they would print one of my outdoor pictures in their magazine. They laughed in my face and said it would never happen no matter what I contributed as I wasn't one of their regular photographers.

So Joe congratulations again for making even a token appearance in their magazine! :bigth:

Congrats, Joe!!

They have a new-ish editor. The magazine has gone through a lot of changes over the past few years, some of them good (featuring a lot more outdoors adventure stories), some of them not so good. I am planning to submit a query letter soon. However, I do hear from a good source that the magazine is "dying." Thanks to our Legislature, etc., a magazine whose subscribership is over 50% out-of-state--many in foreign countries--and is the #1 advertisement for Arizona tourism, yet they are intent on killing it to save a few bucks. Kind of like cutting off your nose to spite your face. My friend said I had better hurry up and submit that query letter.

Super way to go Joe  and I agree with the above statement that HAZ needs to get some props in Arizona Highways.

Congratulations Joe! I believe it is many a southwest photographer's dream to be published in that magazine and you have gotten there. I hope you someday can get back in the dslr game and we can see even more HAZ representation in that mag ;) I'll cry if AZ highways goes under :lone:

If there was an "adder" for the difficulty in just getting there to nail that $$money$$ shot, Joe would have placed first! ;)
