Chedeski charges?
Did I understand this correctly? The woman that started the Chedeski fire is not being charged with anything? Lost for three days or not, wasn't she in an area that was closed? Say it isn't so.

From what I understand her boss was looking at or for a pool table. (For the restaurant?) They turned onto route 12 instead of route 12A. They didn't notice their mistake immediately and didn't know exactly how or where they went wrong. They rode around looking for a way back to familar surroundings but were running out of gas. The record shows that Valinda called the police and the US forest service for help. Got the run around from the forest service and even leaving messages on the voice mail. Having run out of sunlight they slept in the truck. The next day Valinda's phone wasn't working so she thought if she climbed to a higher elevation she might get a signal. Her boss stayed with the truck. She never came back to the truck. Meanwhile her boss encountered two men in a truck that took him to get gas. He got the gas, directions, etc. and came back. He searched for Valinda all day and that night he left and filed a missing person's report. Valinda spent that night alone and lost.
After being lost for three days she saw the helicopter lit the fire to get their attention. The helicopter, a news helicopter, saw the fire and Valinda.
They rescued her and from the implication on another news station, the wind created by the helicopter fanned a small fire to become a larger fire. The helicopter pilot immediately reported the fire to the authorities. As for civil actions. Valinda has no assets. Sure people can get lawyers, spend their money to get a judgement which they would probably easily get. Then for $199. Valinda can file bankruptcy discharge her debts and in 7 to 10 years she's good as new. Who wins in that scenario? That's the facts as I have learned them.
