Re: Big Spring on West clear creek
Campsites in WCC are hard to come by especially when needing a site for a big group, good luck!

What nonot said, plus the few campsites that do exist aren't terribly close to the access points anyway. And besides, down in the canyon is relatively fragile and some places are getting a bit trampled - much better (and easier) to camp up on the rim where you can spread out and enjoy a big campfire, then head down into the canyon for day hikes.

Re: Big Spring on West clear creek
I haven't been to Big Spring or that area. Judging by topo there is a large bench across the creek. No clue if you can get a large group in but from what I've seen in the lower parts I'm sure plenty have camped there over the years. http://hikearizona.com/location_g.php?L ... 5&GPS=6877 switch the map over to satellite, zoom in and you'll get an idea of the area

In my experiences, the lower section of WCC has ample campsites... You may have to break the group up a bit, but I don't think it would be much of an issue.

Re: Big Spring on West clear creek
Ignore my earlier post, I thought you were referring to a different area much further upstream. Like apride said, the lower end of the canyon is pretty wide open and I've seen plenty of large campsites down there. Not sure about the "Big Spring" name though - I've never seen seen any flowing water in that area other than what's in WCC itself.
