This is a good site for flows as well. Also measures some of the washes and retention areas around town too.

Re: INSANE River Data
Oak Creek expected to crest at 23 feet overnight near Sedona, which will cause severe flooding.
SRP is releasing water from the reservoirs, so the Salt River will run through the valley for the next few days. The McKellips crossing will be closed, if it isn't already.
Tempe Town Lake is releasing about 2,000 cfs right now, but will increase it to over 75,000cfs on Saturday!

Re: INSANE River Data
I still can't get over Tonto Creek at 42,000, and rising. Interestingly, Oak Creek and some others do not show as being really big on the graph, so I think some of the gauges must not be working?
Upper Salt when most people are rafting it, in March, is usually about 1200 to 2,000. Right now at the Chrysotile gauge it is at 9100.

Re: INSANE River Data
Verde is INSANE
http://verdenews.com/
VERDE VALLEY -- The National Weather Service is now predicting that rising water in the Verde Valley Friday morning will match or exceed the record flooding of 1993, a dangerous flood that created significant damage along the Verde River and Oak Creek.
All residents in low-lying areas should prepare to move to higher ground well in advance of the expected flooding.
Rivers and Stream (Flooding) (all times are estimates)
• Verde River at Clarkdale reaches flood stage (14 feet) after 5 a.m. Friday. Peak river flow (26.8 feet) predicted at noon Friday.
• Oak Creek at Cornville reaches the Action Stage of 8 feet after 5-6 a.m. Friday. Reaches flood stage (9-feet) between 6 a.m. Friday. Moderate flooding (12-feet) after 7 a.m. Major Flooding (18-feet) after 8 a.m. and peak flooding (20+ feet) by 11 a.m.
• Verde River at Camp Verde Flooding will approach the 1993 record at 10 p.m. Friday night. Flood waters are expected to crest at 23.6 feet. The 1993 record reached 28.4 feet.
Shelters
The Red Cross has arranged for shelters for displaced residents in Cottonwood, Camp Verde and the Big Park area. They will be announced as necessary.
Rain
• 100 percent chance of rain or snow all day Thursday and Thursday night
• 80-90 percent chance Friday and Friday night
• Sand and bags available at all fire departments
Roads
• DPS discourages all travel.
• State Route 89A is closed from Flagstaff to Sedona in both directions
• Northbound I-17 is closed at milepost 298 (Camp Verde) Power lines are lying across both north and southbound I-17 at Kachina Village.
• Chains are required between Heber and Payson on S.R. 260
• State Route 87 is closed from Winslow south to Pine-Strawberry
The Red Rock Ranger District has closed several Forest roads until further notice, including the Vultee Arch Road (FR 152) and the Schnebly Hill Road (FR 153) at the Huckaby Trailhead.

Yea, most of the canyons off of the Rim are way up. Tonto creek near Roosevelt is WAY up. So is the Agua Fria & middle section of Gila though the San Pedro seems unaffected so far...

I just talked to a guy from Tucson who said they've had maybe half an inch of rain throughout this whole week.

Re: INSANE River Data
Several have jumped hugely over the past hour or so. I keep checking back on the Verde, and Tonto Creek, Salt above Roosevelt, Cherry Creek, Black River. And your Cave Creek is now at 9300 and rising. The data chart for it started showing --- but if you click on the Cave Cr. link it shows it as at 10,800. And Tonto up to over 50,000.

I think the most the Colorado River has run through the Grand Canyon since 1966 when Glen Canyon Dam went in was about 103,000cfs back in 1983. The High Water Release Experiments through the Canyon are about 40,000cfs.

And it's supposed to rain on top of the snow....oh, I'm editing this, you're saying they changed that forecast?
That's been another interesting thing about this week: how often the forecasts have been updated and changed.
