It makes me feel like such a democrat, but I went ahead and ordered a pair of Vector hiking sandals. Hey Joe, you never answered the sock question and do you have any toe nails left at all?

And if this makes me start feeling sorry for Clinton, I'm going back to boots.

Sorry olesma... my bad... didn't mean to turn the question of the topic. Let me answer the Toyota question and then we'll swing it back to 'Favorite Footwear'!!.........................Okay enough on that, back to the Tevas we all love and other 'Favorite Footwear'... I do wear socks in the winter and on longer hikes.

This particular thread wasn't what I was expecting but, since it is entitled 'Teva Sandals,' it literally BEGS for a reply. Teva sandals are the best footware ever made. Bar none. They are the most liberating, efficient, and spiritually suitable footware ever to grace the Planet Earth. I know a lot of people have a problem with that. However, if you have an open mind, buy Tevas and don't look back. You will find yourself doing things you never dreamed your little feet would do. You will climb higher, travel farther and generally SKIP across rocks and trails. Sure, there's plenty of cheap (and not so cheap) imitators. But there is and will forever be only one Teva, THE TEVA--the Teva which set us all free back when it was invented by Grand Canyon river guide Mark Thatcher. I am one of the people who can claim to know Mark BEFORE he invented Tevas and AFTER he invented Tevas. We remain friends. If you had ANY idea of what he went through to perfect that sandal and how religiously he has 'stayed the course' to keep that sandal totally state-of-the-art, there would be no sniveling or sniping whatsoever. Tevas Rule! My advice to anyone considering whether to buy Tevas it to simply go buy the best pair your budget can afford. They go IMMEDIATELY to some weird and rocky place. Put them on your feet. And SOAR! That's right. Tevas will set your feet FREE! They are the most awesome footware manufactured on the Planet Earth today and there is ever reason to believe Saint Peter will be wearing a pair when you show up at the Pearly Gates! No sh*t!

I've tried Teva's, but my foot's so narrow I can't adjust the straps tight enough to keep my foot from sliding a lot.
Any ideas on how to solve this problem? :

Hey Joe and Montey,
You have a convert, I love my Teva's and as best as my bulky body can, I soar when I hike. No sore feet, no blisters, no sweaty socks, I love it.

Evenstar, I think I would contact Teva for advise, I beleive they are local in Arizona. Trust me, it would be worth it to be able to wear them.

Evenstar, have you tried Chaco Walkabouts. They are contoured to the foot and are the most foot supporting sandals that I have ever worn. I do hike in them when the weather is hot. Try the Women's regular in the length that fits. I have a low volume foot too and this is what I have done. The Walkabout has a deep tread as apposed to their original with a smoother tread. I can't recommend these sandals enough.

Teva makes a good sandal and they used to make a contoured sandal too but now it is discontinued.

Thanks, Snick33; TEVA makes only one width. Folks with wide feet can handle that, but us guys with skinny feet just can't.

BoyNhisDog, I'll check out the Chaco; it'll hafta be the men's tho' 'cause my foot may be skinny, but it's also looooong!
