The yen and yang of employment

Well, I find that the good times are over. I am employed again. I start with the Bank of America on October 7th. Hoolie as a former B of A employee may choose to taunt from his retired perch - and I wouldn't blame him a bit - but a fella's gotta do what a fella's gotta do.

Anyway - I just wanted to say thanks for all of the positive thoughts/prayers/wishes on my behalf...lo these many months...

It was all greatly appreciated, and now - it's back to the old grind stone...

Glad to hear it. Our son is down there in the valley looking too--he has been out of work for about 6 weeks. He was an America West casualty. He said until he was out of a job he thought everyone else was just lazy and not looking very hard--he has changed his tune.

I used to think that way too, before I started an actual career. Getting a job when you're just a peon is easy - always somebody willing to hire a gopher/assistant for $10 or $12 an hour. But once you begin an actual career - now your hourly value goes up dramatically, and you have a lot stiffer competition. The real world sucks. That's why I plan on becoming a professor. Not only do I get my summers off - but I never have to participate in the real world again!
