Mount Lemmon
Go for it. I want to start around sunrise and do the 25 mile, 8380' RT hike using the W.O.R. and Lemmon Rock going up, and the Mount Lemmon Trail going down. I used gps routes to get the stats and I believe them to be accurate. This monkey has been on my back for a while and I want to knock it off while I'm still in good shape from my hikes this past week. Should be fun, but hard. Now, if I can just not get sick in the next 10 days.

Re: Mount Lemmon
Darn, I'll be around and I was looking for a hike that weekend, but I've been working too much and I'm not in shape for this one.

Re: Mount Lemmon
@Jim_H My knee can't run far any more, but I normally do equivalent miles on the elliptical machine. Unfortunately, I've been maxing out on work (and work travel) this year and don't have my regular level of endurance. Maybe I could just hike up to the top and walk back down later.

Wow, awesome Jim! If it wasn't on Cinco de Mayo I would come down and do this one with you for sure! It's going to be a great, tuff hike. Good luck with it!

Re: Mount Lemmon
Did you go? I took the easy way up and let my car do the hiking. I poked around quite a bit at the vistas and trailheads. My favorite was Windy Point. I imagine Mt. Lemmon attracts huge throngs in the heat of summer, but there were less people up there this afternoon than I expected.

Well, yeah. It was Drinko de Mayo! And they don't herd up there until the heat in Tucson starts to get onerous. That being said, there are thousands of people who live in Tucson who have never been up there.

Re: Mount Lemmon
Hard hike, but doable. R3 is out, as is a single day Telescope hike, but C2C, anyone?
