Dispersed camping near Weatherford Trail, Schultz Pass Rd

I've seen some posts on the internet saying that there's dispersed camping on Schultz Pass Rd but the dates are fairly antiquated. Any recent things I should be aware of before I camp off of Schultz Pass Rd near the Weatherford trailhead?

You have to drive up to past the sign where it will indicate that dispersed camping is allowed. You can't camp right at the trailhead, but I have parked there, and just walked out into the woods with my sleeping bag. Partying goes on out there occasionally. I was out there one time and a guy pulled in nearby, didn't see our camp, and promptly put his stereo on loud at 2 a.m. I got up, shined an LED flashlight his way. He got the idea.

It's not ideal, but it is ok.

I got pretty lucky, dating someone who's family owns a nice spread off of Schultz Pass Road. Have a 5-10 minute drive to various trailheads and I get to sleep in a comfortable bed. Come back to a real shower and cold beer in the fridge.
