Willow Springs (Supes)
Contemplating an overnight trip to Willow Springs in the Supes' West Boulder Canyon. I would prefer to hammock camp, so I was wondering if anyone had any idea if there are trees in that area close enough together to string a hammock? I scoured the existing photosets and I can see a nice tree at the corral but its hard to tell if there's anything else nearby. If anybody has any recent water info for Willow that would great too. Any info would be appreciated!

Jake, backpacking? Are you still working for the tour company?
BTW, want to buy a 5 year old backpack?

@Jim_H
I'm off from tours for the winter starting friday. I'll probably be working construction for the time being. I've got a pack so I'm noy in the market for another. You sound so surprised about me backpacking, Jim.

Re: Willow Springs (Supes)
Jake, if you cannot find two trees close enough together for your rig there is a full roll of barbed wire on it's original spool there that you can run out to reach another tree. Of course in this low desert environment you might not find another tree for a hundred feet or more.
Whatever you do enjoy this pretty little canyon and bring back some of those wonderful pictures that you customarily take. ;)

Re: Willow Springs (Supes)
The corral area is overgrown. It would be difficult to find something to hang a hammock from as most things in that area are bushes without strong trunks like a pine tree. There is one tree in a very overgrown spot next to the corral. There are a few trees to the direct south about 50 yards. To make them suitable you would have to do some pruning. About 1/3 to 1/4 mile from the corral there is a decent grove of trees with much better odds of being able to hammock without too much preparation.

Re: Willow Springs (Supes)
nonot beat me to it with that pic! near the top left of the "U" looks like it may have potential without being too far from the spring. The spring was full of water and it was flowing into some other pools that looked very clear, so I would think you'd be fine but I have very limited backpacking experience so don't put too much weight on my opinions!! ;)
