It told me I was from Springfield. Massachusetts. Not far off as I'm from Hartford, CT........I think the question about the long sandwich with cold meats, cheese and sometime condiments gave me dead away. In southern New England they are known as grinders.

I took another, shorter version of that test earlier in the week. I think there must be several versions.

My cities were Tucson, Salt Lake, and Denver - none of which is correct ... but northeast Ohio and Phoenix were also dark red, so not bad.

My results said Phx, Mesa, Gilbert... All close, but like Hippy and Bradshaws, I'm a bit of a rarity - Born and raised in Flagstaff, my mother and father both born and raised in Flagstaff, my grandpararents on both sides moved to Flagstaff at young ages. My grandfather, Elmer Hubbard Sr., was one of the first white men allowed deep into Monument Valley without a Navajo guide. It was fun growing up and going camping with him!

Hmmm. It said I was from San Francisco, Sacramento, or Santa Rosa. It is true that I'm from California, but from the Los Angeles suburbs.

I think the test was adaptive, with answers guiding the selection of successive questions. That particular question would have been interesting, since there are so many region-specific answers.

I think I will take it again, with slightly altered answers. There were some things I have said more than one way, such as kitty or catty corner.

I thought along the same lines until I took it a second time, when the very first question asked was different. I think they possibly have a slightly larger set of questions which are randomly selected from.

BTW, after being pegged to three lesser known and widely spread cities (Fresno, CA being the only one I can recall at the moment... old age strikes again), I realized I answered the questions as I would today after living in AZ for 11 years.

So I took it again, this time answering as I would have half a lifetime ago and I was pegged pretty much right on... to the Minneapolis metro area. Although of course my monkey's wedding response came from my youth spent in South Africa, and curious enough, it was not a question asked in my first test but 3 questions into the second test.

The quiz pegged me to the midwest, as I answered the questions as if I was a kid.
The quiz was correct.
However, from age 18, I've lived in NM/IL/WI/AZ/TX/FL/AZ (again)/GA/IL (again)/WI (again)/and AZ for a 3rd time.

I vividly remember 'words' being pronounced differently and different phrasiology used around the country. Fun stuff.
I remember being 'called-out' on my 'Lingo' also. :)

I'm sure these differences will slowly fade, with new generations, now that we have instant communication etc.

Having lived in Minnesota, Texas, Nebraska, California, Arizona, Massachusetts, Nevada, Alaska, Utah, Illinois, Wyoming, Colorado and the Ukraine I am afraid to answer any of the quiz questions as I may be reported to the Homeland Security as a potential terrorist or at least a fugitive from justice. Especially if they find out how much time I have spent in the Superstition Wilderness! :scared:
