This thread seems the appropriate place to post since this, too, is a last-minute hike...
Does anyone know if permits are required for this hike? I'm planning on following 'Eagle's route (http://hikearizona.com/gps=9359) to keep things simple (relatively...). Plan on heading up Sat morning, hitting the peak, and cruising back home. Would rather not have any citations waiting for me when I return to the vehicle.

the only issue there is the gate
if you won't be finished by 5pm? or dark? park outside the gate or ask the host if they'll keep it open
