Big Horn Peak
Going to try and erase the bad memories of this hike from last year. Want to hit Big Horn Peak this Saturday morning. Let's meet behind the Culver's off of I-10 and Avondale Blvd around 8:00 AM to carpool out to the peak. Should be able to hit the trail by 9:00 AM. If you are a fan of bagging desert peaks, off trail adventures and dodging cacti this is the hike for you.

I'm in. I-10 and Avondale huh? Isn't that just past the agriculture-check station? ;)
I'm not sure what my spirit animal is, but I'm confident it has rabies.

Oh come on, from Tempe on a Saturday morning it's a 30 minute drive. Could be worse, it's not Buckeye.chumley wrote:I'm in. I-10 and Avondale huh? Isn't that just past the agriculture-check station? ;)
The Culver's restaurant is just south of I-10. Turn left at the first traffic light.

Re: Big Horn Peak
It's solid 4th class climbing according to previous trip reports. Plus cactus infested, other than the Estrella's the worst patch of cactus I have had to negotiate.SPEER wrote:How 'climbey' does it get towards the top? Bad memories?
