Trying to get rolling on HAZ again

Post by beterarcher » Feb 06 2018 2:51 pm

I've taken several years off this site and I'm trying to get familiar with it again. Lots of stuff has changed here but I think I'm getting a handle on it. I haven't been hiking much because I lost my job and hadn't found something that gives me the freedom to pursue the outdoors for more than a few hours at a time. Well, I got my old job back buuuuut, the company is going through some though business :pk:. I'm looking forward to future interaction with old and new HAZ friends.

P.S. Sorry but, I 4X4 more than I hike now

Cheers,
Michael....

Welcome back! I am also trying to get back in the habit of posting, I took off most of last year myself. I have changed jobs (same company) and that has certainly affected my hiking time, well that and my kids getting older...quality was always better than quantity anyway.

đź’©.....HAHAHAHAHA I thought of you Alston when I took the road from Table Mesa rd to the base of New River Mesa. My noob status in my Jeep and the fact that there isn't much of a place to turn around on the climb, I decided against proceeding further

Always great to see people return to the site. Welcome back!

So, I wasn't hiking but looking for new areas to get to. I had been studying Cedar Basin Road along the Hell's Gate Wilderness border for a while and just got out there today. There was a HAZer camped along the road swingin in a hammock but I didn't have time to stop so I waved as I went by. Gray Toyota Tacoma, black dog that looked super happy to be there....just wondering who it was.

@The_Eagle
Thanks but, judging by the posted route I'm not sure if this is who i was talking about as they seem to have been east of Cedar Basin rd by quite a bit. It's sure a beautiful area,
