Lynx Lake Looking Good

Post by Abe »

Folks, after the kids and I took my mom out for breakfast in Chino Valley; it's Grandparents Day today, the kids and I took a small detour on the way home. We swung into the Lynx Lake Recreation Area and I am glad to say the monsoon storms have done well filling Lynx Lake with water. It is looking good, much better than when I was there last. The south shore was filled with folks, fishing, picnicing, and starting their hikes. So if your up this way, check it out, and go on a small walk around the lake.

In addition, Watson Lake is looking great as well.

Thanks for this information. I love Prescott, I've been on two hikes at Isabella Trail and planning another hike for Groom's Creek. Maybe we'll drive over to the lake and take a look.

Thanks,

Good news, thanks. I'm heading up to Watson lake in a few weeks to kayak and spend the night.

We did the Lynx Lake loop hike in June, and I am glad to hear you say the lake has filled somewhat. Our big shock :o was the bark beetle trees!!! The whole area was filled with them. This summer I have seen many other AZ forested areas worsen terribly. How do the trees look now around Lynx Lake after the rains?

FYI for the fisherfolks in HAZ, they stocked Lynx Lake with fish last week.

trishness, sherileeaz, and dcornelius read your guys, oops, gals log entries on your hike around and on top of Spruce Mountain. Cool.

I do make it a point to read the logs and summaries as they come in and spotted all three of yours. Makes me jealous that I could not hike with you all.
