From the footbridge, to get to Ribbon Falls you go left. To get to Upper Ribbon Falls you go right. Not that tough of a hike. Maybe a mile & a half to the falls. We went in October and it wasn't flowing very hard. Should be more impressive in April but the crossings would also be more difficult. I don't think that you can camp in this Valley. Talk with BCO. I think you have to be west and above the valley to camp (Utah Flat area?). There is an Upper Upper Ribbon Falls. I've heard that when this is impressive, the hike is tough. And when the hike is easy, UURF is not impressive. Hope this helps. I don't remember if I was carrying a GPS on this hike. You really don't need lat/long but if it makes you more comfortable, I might be able to get them (sort of close :) ) for you. Arduous day hike from Phantom Ranch or the North Rim. Easy day hike from Cottonwood Campground.
Anybody can make a hike harder. The real skill comes in making the hike easier.

We used the above link to find the upper falls this past weekend. I asked at the BCO and was told there is a 'social' trail that leads back to the upper falls. Once you know where to leave the main trail, it was easy for us to follow...We followed a trail all the way back to the falls and checked out the ruins nearby. It was nice to have a waterfall and pool all to ourselves vs the busy ribbon falls. It was the first Saturday the North Rim was open so there were tons of rim to rim hikers on the trail!
