New Trip Descriptions: Photos

Post by imike »

I assume that it is generally desired to have some photos of every trail listed, just to give a general idea of what the trail and area are like. I am often hiking trails that lack drama or particular interest in the sense of outstanding physical features, in which case I'll usually just shoot the trailhead sign and a couple of trail shots just as an indicator. Then, there are the trails where every ten feet open to a great and dramatic shot... and I tend to take way too many pics, but usually try to limit the submissions to around 15. I assume the pics are more of a tease than a photo documentary... what is generally desired?

Whatever you want, I'd assume. Some people want the photo documentation of every camp, cliff, and cathole, while others just want a general ideal of what is out there.

Personally, I think 15 is perfect.

There was another thread a couple of months ago that ventured into this same question. Despite a comment about creating a "new thread" so people could find it in the future, it never happened that way. Here's a link to where the quantity discussion started: http://www.hikearizona.com/dex2/viewtop ... ity#p36607
