Hi everyone,
I'm planning on doing a trip to the bottom of the canyon next March and I'd like to take my parents who are in their 60's. They don't feel like they could do such a difficult hike so I thought they could just ride a mule. Does anyone know what the process is to reserve a mule? Good/bad experiences?I don't need info on Phantom Ranch because I'd just reserve a camp ground at Bright Angel for us. Thanks for the info!

Pretty much anything along the lines you are asking about falls into the domain of the legendary "Transportation Desk." Here are their "vitals."

but forget the 303 area code #...Toll Free is: 1-888-297-2757
I've found reservation reps at Xanterra to go out of their way to be helpful.
BTW, the first thing hkers wanna do when they reach the river is soak their hot, tired feet in the river! Guess what part of the anatomy the mule riders wanna soak?

ck1 did a beautiful article which included that info too
Grand Canyon - Beginners Guide
http://hikearizona.com/dex2/article.php?AID=17
of course it'd be easier to find if "Search" worked on articles
Guess I better jump on fixing that!
