Superstition Mts: Bluff Spring Loop & Weaver's View
Hi!!! Any suggestions on Bluff Spring Loop & Weaver’s View? My husband and I are experienced, though intermediate, backpackers and plan this as an easy 2-day in late February. Probably do counter clockwise and camp somewhere around Crystal Spring area: Is there water or should we pack it in? On a weekend, will it be overrun with people? We have very warm gear and good sleeping bags; so if sunny should be OK. Thanks much!

Re: Superstition Mts: Bluff Spring Loop & Weaver's View
This past monday, almost all the pools were green and looking pretty nasty. There was one decent looking source on the Terrapin Trail, though. This loop, of course, includes Charlebois which is a solid water source year round and it had a nice clear pool on Monday as it usually does. If you're just doing a two-day, I would plan on this being your only reliable source unless we get a good rain before then.

@Tough_Boots
I actually think you're thinking of Bluff Spring Mountain Loop. The "bluff spring and weavers view" only passes crystal spring.
I would recommend packing in your own water, especially since it's a relatively short loop.

The majority stay on the Peralta Trail. You won't be alone but I think it will be very enjoyable.

Re: Superstition Mts: Bluff Spring Loop & Weaver's View
Here are the latest spring reports for viewing for Crystal Spring and Bluff Spring http://hikearizona.com/location_g.php?QX=420 . Looks like Bluff Spring was flowing at ~1qt per minute back on 1/8/11. If you decide to camp at the backpack campsite just off TR104 close to Crystal Spring (was not flowing above ground on 12/3/09), you will not be that far from Bluff Spring if it is still flowing on your trip date

There are good camping spots all over the place near the intersection of the Dutchman and the Bluff Spring Trail. I imagine that for this loop intermediate backpackers would be just fine - you aren't lopping off something I would consider excessive in any way.

What are some of the overnight parking options for this hike? I believe there are signs posted at Peralta that say no overnight parking. Is that enforced? I know you could park at First Water or Woodbury. Any place else?

You can park overnight at Peralta...or at the overflow lots. Unless there's a new policy?
