camping Taylor Loop Sedona
Hello everybody. Was wondering if anybody has ever backpacked the Taylor Cabin Loop? If so, are there designated camp sites for the backcountry? Any help would be great. Take it easy,tp

I haven't hiked it, but there's several triplogs and two GPS routes posted that might be the route you are thinking.
Dispersed camping is the rule, so you are free to camp anywhere you can find, though you are also likely to encounter a few sites where people have camped before where there may already be a fire ring.
From the triplogs, it seems like a water source will be your biggest concern.
After you make the trip, please post a triplog so we can add to the amount of information available here on HAZ for the next person!

I'm not sure what my spirit animal is, but I'm confident it has rabies.

Re: camping Taylor Loop Sedona
There are several designated campsites along the Dogie Trail. The best and largest of these is about five miles in, right before the trail makes a big descent into the canyon. You'll know it when you see it: about three nice campfire rings and plenty of spots for tents to the left of the trail as you're going in. As far as from the Taylor side, you can camp at the cabin itself. Just be aware that the Taylor Cabin Trail isn't much of a trail at all and is overgrown/covered in deadfall. Bring a map & compass/GPS/both methods of navigation.

Re: camping Taylor Loop Sedona
I would be less concerned with the trail route, and more interested in water availability. however, gps and map can do wonders for your success, weather reports, less so.
I went 2x in spring and fall, water was a fluke, snowmelt might be a good indicator but not always. its a sandy creek where water can seep underground for miles..
camp south of the cabin and you will find adequate sites.check the monthy trip reports to find a hint of what you will encounter. As the mandelbrot/chaos theory suggests, bring that map.
