ADOT announced that the Oak Creek Canyon Switchbacks will be closed for repaving from May 27 to July 2, 2014. Apparently it is easier to just shut them down than to try to keep one lane open.

That's good to know. The paving project is now on hold due to the Slide Fire. No new timeline has been posted.
