I am wondering what to expect in that unnamed (on my maps) canyon that starts from the SE end of Black Mesa, between it and Yellow Mountain heading north down to Boulder Canyon. Thanks in advance.

There is some growth but I found it easy to get by. You May find in this order hiking north:
a grinding hole.

Some petroglyphs (south side).

another petroglyph (north side).

a cave to the north.

a memorial stick to the south near Yellow Peak.

Re: Off shoot canyon of Second Water Canyon
Here's a link to my trip a year ago. It's a seldom visited area so not really any trails to follow. Lots of Prickly Pear patches and tall grass hiding the sharp rocks. Most of the wash is very thick and full of catclaw so stick to the areas above the wash. Exit downstream from the old camp site can be difficult if there's much water flowing. Best/preferred entry is from Black Mesa trail as it's all down hill to Second Water Trail.

On every trip into the Superstitions, I find another Gold Mine. Today the mine was filled with Memories. I can not wait for the next trip.
