Habitat
pinyon pine/juniper woodlands, montane and subalpine, along streams, limestone soils

Flowers
groups of 2-10 trumpet-shaped, drooping yellow flowers; each flower, 1/2 inch wide, has a wide mouth with 5 rounded lobes; base of the flower is claped by 5 slender pointed hairy bracts

Description
blush green leaves, 1-2 1/2 in. long are long, thin and hairy with margins rolled under; upper leaves are gradually smaller; 2-3 small bracts at each leaf attachment (axis); hairy single stem
