Habitat
very common. stony slopes, sandy plains, mesas & roadsides.
Flowers
single 1" to 2" wide flower head at the end of a stem up to 12" above plant. Both rays and disk are yellow. Rays are 3 lobed and in multiple layers.
Description
Native. herb, to 10" to 24" tall.
Comments
desert-marigold moth (Schinia miniana)will seal the flower-head into a ball for its cocoon.
