Registry entries from 1994... Some ignorant person named Lynn J. talked about "destructive" cattle "ruining" our public land. First of all she doesn't understand that the cattle owners are paying for the rights to use the "public land" which include allowing their cattle to graze there. Second, the cattle are eating a lot of the grass and plants that they are more adapted to eat, instead of being forced to eat corn and grains on some factory farm, being cooped in with thousands of other cows and subject to terrible diseases and given drugs and anti-biotics just so they can stay alive until they are ready for slaughter. Third, by allowed the cattle to graze, it clears up the land and makes the hike a more pleasant experience for us hikers. Fourth, does this woman think that the wild animals, who were here before us, are also "destroying" the land? Animals such as javelina, coyote, deer, packrats, snakes, etc.? If the cattle were wild and not "owned", this is the place they would be living.
