TOP: As I was researching it, I saw that this scene painting is represented in several institutions. After Heinrich Hofmann (German, 1824-1911), "Christ and the Rich Young Ruler".

Bottom was a recreation of St Francis in his glass box. I thot the story of him was rather fascinating: The Transitus

Each October 3rd Franciscans around the world celebrate the death of St. Francis. The word transitus is Latin for passage and signifies the transition from earthly life to eternal life with God.
On the night of his death, St. Francis was filled with joy and prayed and sang with his brothers who were joined by the people from the sur-rounding countryside. As he died, his skin was said to become dazzlingly bright causing the people who witnessed it to give praise and thanksgiving to God.
