The Irish Brigade Monument at the base of the observation tower. The stone is from County Wicklow, Ireland. The commander of the Irish Brigade, Thomas Meagher, was from County Waterford. I wore my Celtic colors just so I could take this photo. Despite no longer raining, the wind was howling. God, it was cold! Still, I could not wuss out: I had to represent. The Irish Brigade was manned by refugees from An Gorta Mór (the Great Famine), while Celtic was founded to support Irish famine refugees in Glasgow's east end.
