At the back of the large cliff alcove there were two small raised level areas with hand placed rock retaining walls holding them in place, probably of historical origin. The remains of a very old woven wire fence ran across the 80 yd long front of this alcove and it appeared to have been separated into 3 sections by similar fencing running from the perimeter fence to the cliff wall. This all was obviously built in historic times but for what purpose I could not determine. The old corral shown in a previous photo is about 70 yds down canyon from here. Perhaps this had also been a corral for cattle or possibly sheep based on the use of woven wire. It was a very hidden location that provided some protection from the weather.
