Yep, this was not looking good. Brian says, "get movin!" We paddled as fast as we could and then the wind came and pushed us to the south shore. Thankfully that is where we needed to go. It's like any paddling we would have done to get away from the south shore would have been fruitless. As it was, Connie and I kept feeling like we would get grounded in the high grass but the river was pretty high even here.

So as we finally were able to get close enough to jump out we did. Brian barked orders and we followed as we tried to get the kayaks loaded onto the truck. I cannot tell you how close that timing was. We probably spent 15 minutes by the time the storm came up to getting the kayaks loaded. That storm was not only carrying high wind but a lot of hail; that did indeed go north.
