Our last stop was the Greencreek Cemetery, also known as Saint Anthony's Cemetery which is also the steepled church you can see somewhat in the middle of the photo.

The town of Greencreek was named after Green Creek, Illinois where most of the settlers here came from. We love how they laid out this cemetery with the long cement blocks to hold the headstones. Once again, we have many relatives buried here including our second great great grandparents interred here in the mid 1920s.

I find it so endearing that these small towns are so good about decorating the graves. It's a great way to remember them to the descendants.
