At the Monastery Museum, there was this wall size picture taken in 1927. What I found most interesting is the woman on the right. I wonder if she was working harvest or bringing lunch or something. We used to bring lunch to the harvest crews back when I was on the farm.

Just one of the very cool photographs at St Gertrude's Monastery Museum. In the days before combines, a header -- pushed by horses --gathered grain and transferred it to header wagons. The wagons carried the grain to a stationary threshing machine that separated the grain from the stalks and husks.

About the Museum:
Preserving the past for the future, the Museum features a rich and in-depth collection focusing on the history of North Central Idaho, specifically, mining, ranching, farming, the Chinese in Idaho, the Nez Perce, local characters, antique weapons and more.
