The dual dam controls. Very dry this year, the driest any of us remember. They're already getting snow up there so hopefully there will be more of that.
I just found this story as I had asked cousin Brian some questions and he mentioned this story: JR Story as told in October 2010 in a letter to Brian and Heidi:
I remember 7 or 8 years ago I was telling Dallas how we had worked all day and night until 6 AM the next day filling in the gap that was washed out the preceding year in the dam above your house. It had started to chinook and the water was really coming in pretty fast.
We had finished filling in the gap in the dam and I went to bed upstairs in your house at 6AM. At about 10AM I looked out the east window; the water was really running down the Dead Indian Coulee 10’ to 12’ deep. In spite of all our efforts the dam had broken again. I asked Dallas if he had remembered that when I realized that was in 1943 or 1944. He wasn’t born yet.
