| no partners | | My last hiking day in Utah on this trip and I wanted something easy. I found the Clayton Peak hike in one of my Utah books. It goes south from Guardsman Pass to Clayton Peak in 1.1 miles and a little over 1,000 feet elevation gain. Too easy so I decided to go further. Not the best idea since there was no trail. I created a loop but the off trail was difficult and I had to deal with a high grade down climb and lots of hiking over boulder fields below. But I made a 5.6 mile loop that I would not do again. No special reason to go past Clayton Peak except to get in trouble. |
