| no partners | | Today's journey has finally made me decide to buy a 4WD. Headed out to Woodbury, never been there, and made it a few miles on FR172 with my Altima. Decided not to take a chance to damage the oil pan and had to pull to the side. Bummer. I was still 9 miles from the TH and took off walking down the road for about 2-1/2 miles and turned around. Several hunters passed in 4WD's and it was deflating not to make it to the TH. So, now I am on a mission to find an older model 4x4. Even though I didn't make it to the TH, I still enjoyed being in the solitude of the area. The only negative was the amount of cans, bottles, wrappers, car skid plates, and other random trash along FR172. If anyone is interested, I would be willing to participate in a cleanup along that road. If we could get 5-6 people together, we could take a few hours and pick the eyesore up. Pretty sad.  |
