| no partners | | My kids and I have been coming to Tonto Natural Bridge for years. We brought my son in law for the first time and took our Christmas photo. My daughter Alexis slipped into the creek. It was hilarious. She can't stand for her feet to touch anything slimy or bumpy. This was the last time she would be doing anything active for a while before having major surgery on October 6th. There were complications and here it is February 3rd, 2011 and she just got out of the hospital yesterday.
Tucked away in a tiny valley surrounded by a forest of pine trees, Tonto Natural Bridge State Park has been in the making for thousands of years. It is believed to be the largest natural travertine bridge in the world. The bridge stands 183 feet high over a 400-foot long tunnel that measures 150 feet at its widest point. More on how it was discovered and how it was formed at http://www.pr.state.az.us/parks/TONA/index.html |
