Today's adventure took me a couple of miles across open sonoran desert to Mud Springs Knoll and then down to an old ranch. Spent some time exploring the area which included corrals, mud springs tank, a windmill and many ranching artifacts. I then made a short trip up a mountain slope to Mud Springs (dry) before turning around and heading back. Was passed by about 15-20 motocross riders on the last half mile back. Overcast skies and a light wind kept the temps perfect all morning! Wildlife sightings today included 1 rattlesnake, 1 tarantula and a white-tail doe by the spring. |
