| partners | | I went to Joshua Tree NP two more times before and after my vacation to San Diego on 5/23/11 and 5/26/11. My partner left early, so I went solo to look for more creepy crawlies. I saw mainly a bunch of sidewinders (very common in the flats there) and desert iguanas. I caught a few lizards by hand, which is not easy by the way. I didn't use a noose either, because that would require skill and patience - two things that I just don't have.
The first half of the photoset was taken on 5/26/11 and the second half was taken on 5/23/11. There was a glitch on this web-site when I uploaded the 5/23/11 photos separately. No big deal, since I didn't take too many photos.
You can see the other photos taken at Joshua Tree and Deer Creek Trail near Idyllwild from 5/20/11 to 5/22/11.
Wildlife seen during 5/20/11 to 5/26/11 were: feral donkeys (AZ), alligator lizards (Idyllwild), sidewinders, desert iguanas, coachwhips, whiptails, a horned toad, earless lizards, a western diamondback, 2 speckled rattlesnakes, a shovel-nosed snake, a coyote, 4 glossy snakes, mice, ground squirrels, a sun spider, scorpions, and brown widows.
In San Diego (photos not uploaded): Red Diamondback, a gophersnake, 3 gartner snakes, 2 kingsnakes (one striped, one common), 2 South Pacific Rattlesnakes, and some deer.
-Can't wait to do it again. |
