Fall was in full swing with some beautiful cottonwoods by camp and in the upper reaches of Red Canyon wash. Loved our different campsite! (camped at river the prior 3 times so we did something different.) This allowed us an early camp & some wonderful time to poke around the wash upstream & check out the area. The no moon nights made for some spectatcular night skies -- the milky ways was very evident. Spent an hr or so star gazing. Not too cold by the wash. Fell asleep to sounds of a soothing babbling creek rather than the usual thunderous roar of Hance Rapids.
As always -- this trail is one hard trail! a few sections & it feels longer than the designated distance. |
