After a quick stop at the Safeway at Catalina Hwy and Tanque Verde Rd for some breakfast items we were once again on the road.
The Land Cruiser's prowess for out of the box off-road capability was once again put to use. Saving us approximately 6 miles of additional hiking at lower elevations in July was welcome. It also allowed Joseph to come with on this hike. After some GPS confusion we got our bearings and headed out.
It was very pleasant out this morning with early cloud cover, a pair of Harris Hawks and some nice breezes. We explored the canyon a bit before arriving to our target swimming hole. I couldn't wait to get in, however Joseph was having no part of it.
We hung out at the swimming hole for about an hour before turning back and hiking to the truck.
Can't wait to go back before the water is gone. |
