| no partners | | Very warm and humid hike this morning; thankfully we started early and had cloud cover for most of the trip.
The objective was to hike to Bridal Veil Falls, see water, cool off,and swim. However you need available water to to accomplish 3 out of four of the objectives.
Esperero Canyon was bone dry. In addition, one member of the group only brought 3L of water, and that was consumed by the time we arrived at the very DRY falls (the halfway point). They did however have a filter, and there wasn't any acceptable water to them, that could be filtered. Sooooo I gave up half of my well planned water needs. Grumble, grumble.
It was however a great reptile day! A ribbon snake/garter snake, Tiger Rattlesnake, an Arizona Black Rattlesnake, and a small Desert Tortoise. In addition there were two young mule deer frolicking near a waterhole, we stopped and watched them for at least ten minutes. |
