A rare day off and a great day for a hike with the thermometer approaching 80 degrees and the calendar still indicating February! Lynn and "desert puppy" Skippy along for the trek. Started at the Pima Canyon parking lot (48th & Guadalupe) and hiked the dirt road to the National Trail junction. Branched off to the Mormon Loop and followed for 1.3 miles until it rejoins the National Trail. Desert is VERY brown due to our 100+ days without rain. What a contrast from a year ago! Did manage to track down a single wild flower in bloom (see photographic evidence). Even found the petroglyphs near the convergence of the National, Mormon Loop, and Ridgeline Trails - don't know how I've managed to miss these during many previous hikes and bike rides...
