Vol 1", 2012, to climb a level three, the person must have complete freedom from vertigo and be sure-footed. A via ferrata kit is highly recommended (do an internet search to see what this is).
It leaves from a large (free) parking lot down from val Gardena pass toward Corvara. This one is the real deal, not for the novice. Very popular route. Short but serious. If you like serious rock scrambling, you would love this one.
The gps route I just posted does not include the lower via ferrata, which is a challenge of its own. As the book, and the maps show, you can bypass the lower portion and save some energy for the hard part. There is a spectacular bridge near the top of the climb.
There are five rating levels, all explained in the book. See more details on the terrain on Tobacco map 07, Alta Badia Arabba - Marmolada. |
