| no partners | | It was Noel and my 6mo anniversary and while thinking how to celebrate, she reminded me about my idea of going out to the Salton Sea (my second time) with her dress. So along with my friend Steve, his daughter, and my high school tux, we went out to make an overnighter of it.
The main event was to be the mud pots but we storyboarded it out so that way we could take some progressively dirtier and dirtier pictures at some nearby abandonments.
I set my camera up, gave it over to Steve and had him shoot almost the whole thing.
It was fun coming up with ideas/shots/places as a collective.
Of course we had 2 vans show up full of San Bernadino County Museum folk while completely covered at the mud volcs and ask the same 2 questions we were asked last time: "Are you geologists?" and "Can we take your picture?" I counted 7 cameras so maybe we'll be an exhibit on a wall somewhere
We had to resort to cleaning up in an irrigation ditch on the side of the road, but at least the water looked and smelled clean compared to anything else nearby.
Anyway, if you need prettier words with a lovey story and a few more pics, I threw them up on a blog for the non-hiking people to see: http://www.higherground4x4.com/goexplore/?p=813 |
