| no partners | | I was itching to get into the Wilderness again now that the mornings are nice. Unfortunately, I got a late start and there were gobs of cars at Peralta TH by the time I got there. So at the last minute I opted for the challenge and solitude of the Cave Trail. Good choice. It's hard to match the beauty of those huge granite faces with the interior of the Superstitions in the background. By the time I got to Fremont Saddle it was late and warm, so I braved the masses and followed Peralta down. It was actually a lot less crowded than expected. I've never seen these trails so overgrown at this time of year, and there was still running water in the creek. This was a unique summer (weatherwise) to be sure. Looking forward to an El Nino winter!
P.S. If anyone is able to identify the plants in my photoset, I would appreciate it! |
