| no partners | | Great hike, lots of wild flowers, mushrooms and humidity. We started above the ranger station where several other trail heads started, and stopped to see the falls and have lunch. We did see one white tail doe running through the woods as we hiked up the last section to the top near the ranger station. Unsure what spooked the deer, but I think it was hikers coming our way. Enjoyed raspberries along the trail, and found an area about 12 ft. by 12 ft. of wild hops growing. At first I was in heaven, but after close observation I found no actual hops on the vines. I did bring back about 2 ft. of roots to try growing at home. From there we hiked out to the other end near the ranger station. From that point we used AT (alternant transportation) hitchhiked back to the car. My millage per my GPS was just over 6 miles. Once I get time I will try to post photos. |

Wildflowers Observation Substantial Lots of different types of flowers, but can'd identify them. |
