| no partners | | After reading so much about this trail, myself and some buddys headed up in hopes of experiencing the awesome scenery. Only thing is we can't do things the "normal" way, so after some map planning, and high hopes, we decided to attempt to camp at the top of the canyon. I will say we were treated to a spectacular view, but the canyon was soo big, and the terrain down was, well, no way we could really make it down, or even think about comming back up. So to avoid the crowds we headed to the east end of the canyon... lots of dirt road travel due to roads being closed for "service." Once we found the east end, it was a bit of a downer not to find any water in the creek, but we were still treated to some of natures beauty. For those of you who would want to hike the whole 14 miles (trailhead to east end), there is an area at the east end you can park a car off the side of the road. |
