| no partners | | Did just the Inner Basin portion of this hike last summer and knew I'd be back for more. The basin really is a treat, and yes it is hard to believe it's in Arizona. Anyway, while the Inner Basin trail is good, the Weatherford is even better. The short stretch from the I.B. to the Doyle/Fremont saddle is something special. Great views of the Basin and surrounding peaks and a kind of eerie walk across a scree slope make it a
great trail. Just as I got to the saddle the usual afternoon storm rolled in, so I (wisely) decided to call it a day. I don't feel cheated though...it was still a great day! Kudos to nickfraley for a well written and accurate description. |
