i ran the Breck Crest Trail Marathon in Breckenridge, Colorado. always thought the 10 mile range looked awesome when i did Quandary last year so this looked like a great chance to check it out more. my race buddy Jen ran it as well.

the course is totally beautiful with the jewel being the miles above timerline and the associated spectacular local summits and distant views. added bonus, i saw a moose on the way up :y:

pretty challenging for this desert dweller, but that's part of the fun. starting at 9600 feet and vast majority WAY above that, i was dying for most of the course. i also forgot my inhaler

. totally worth the pain though and while i am always a back of the packer, i certainly do enjoy myself doing these. as always i stop for pictures and drinking it all in whenever i want. the rest of the time i give it all i can.

Michelle came with and we spent a few days in Breck, making an absolutely wonderful weekend of the whole thing.

i'd do this one again in a heartbeat. wonderfully well run event.
