| partners | | The boys and I were feeling frisky so we decided to hike good ol' Squaw perks. Not sure when the barrels and pink paint were put up there but judging from the fade of the paint I would say it's been a few decades or more. I had heard about this one from DesertBoonie some time ago and then last week when passing by on the way to Mount Ajo Denny and I discussed planning a trip. A short week later we were standing on top of the higher chi chi.
We circled around the lower ta-ta to look for a route up but the only two feasible routes looked sketchy at best. Crumbly rock had me backing down and giving that one a pass. Unfortunately, as we circled this one Mr. LP took a slide right into a Cholla which used his nose as a pin cushion.
Outside of that the trip in and out was pretty straight forward. Cool hike for sure and a beautiful surrounding dessert.
Thanks for lunch in Maricopa Denny. |
