The the canyon getting to and the Hells Half Acre area are a little slice of heaven in my book. Unusual rock formations, some water, fall foliage, caves and alcoves mark this area. There's lots more to explore in here.
I'm not done with this area.
The wash walk to Burro Creek drags a bit, but you are almost guaranteed a Burro sighting. Sometimes they will bray before you see them.
This time of year, this part of Burro Creek is quite picturesque. The Cottonwoods were yellow, the water is clean and clear. Karl was actually getting ready to go swimming on a promise that Joe ultimately, did not keep.
Haley's Wash also has interesting areas. We made a stop by the Haleys Spring and the hole is still filled with plenty of life saving moisture.
We saw 10+ Burros in 3 different bands on the day.
We have ideas for alternate routes for the next trip up here.
Thanks for driving Karl... |
